As an educator and licensed clinical counselor, Barbara has worked with children and adults since 1976. Her career began as an educator in Virginia and Pennsylvania and was followed by settling in Maine in 1984. After obtaining her Masters degree from the University of Southern Maine, she continued post-graduate work to obtain National Certification and Clinical Counseling licensure. The variety and depth of her experiences contributes to her understanding of the many real-life challenges patients and their families experience.

Barbara’s clinical practice focuses on delivering counseling support and therapy in the areas of: Couples Counseling, Adolescent Development, and Adult Growth with a focus on mental health, wellness and relationship fulfillment.  To promote positive change, Barbara applies relevant techniques to specific goals established by the client. Cognitive-behavioral and Dialectical skill building are among the therapies used to address presented concerns.

In addition, Barbara provides employee assistance counseling, skill and personality assessments, and full assessment and treatment planning for a range of social and emotional diagnoses.
